UNDERGROUND NATURAL GAS STORAGE – PROJECT IN GERMANY, STASSFURT

By expanding the cavern storage facility by a further 7 caverns, the customer has expanded the working gas by a total of approx. 600 million Nm³. By increasing the working gas volume, the existing plant is to be expanded by two injection lines and one withdrawal train. The expansion took place during ongoing operations.

The planning and construction included the entire station infrastructure for the injection and withdrawal lines with the necessary auxiliary and auxiliary systems. These include the separators, heat exchangers, pressure/volume control, boiler system and gas drying and TEG regeneration plant, compressor units, fuel gas supply system, air supply system, condensate collection system, field pipes to the caverns, station vent and expansion system, MV/LV switchgear and process control system.

As part of the EPCm project, PSE was assigned with the project management, planning as well as the construction and commissioning management.
