Compressor stations are essential for transporting gases over long distances. ZEELINK is an important gas pipeline for security of supply in North Rhine-Westphalia. It runs from the Belgian-German border to Legden, where the new compressor station to be built will play an important role in the stable and reliable supply of customers. This applies in the context of changed transport routes from north-west Europe as well as for the upcoming conversion of transport networks to hydrogen. In the first stage of expansion, the main component of the compressor station will be two oil-lubricated turbo compressor units with gas turbine drive, each with a mechanical output of approx. 13 MW. For a possible further expansion stage, the compressor station can be expanded by a compressor unit. In addition, the system consists of 4 inlet and 5 outlet measuring sections, with one separator assigned to each of the input measuring sections.

As part of the project, PSE was assigned for the project management, planning as well as the construction and commissioning management.
The planning and construction of the compressor station included the entire building and station infrastructure for the compressor units with the necessary auxiliary and ancillary systems. These include the separators, gas coolers, gas quantity / gas quality measurements and pressure/volume controls, fuel gas supply system, air supply system, station vent and blowdown system, MV/LV switchgear, emergency power generator, process control and SCADA system.
